School House Sessions

Join us for a mini-course in building science, featuring nationally-recognized experts who will outline the fundamental principles of the Environments For Living® program.

John Tooley (Advanced Energy)
John will speak about energy efficiency and will provide an overview of energy-efficient construction techniques — and how the home performs as a system.

Gary Klein (GreenPlumbers® USA)
Gary will outline how water efficiency can be increased through engineered plumbing solutions, and water-saving fixtures and appliances.

Ron Jones (Green Builder® Media LLC)
Ron covers indoor environmental quality, including an overview on how to control pollutants at the source, the relationship between a tight building envelope and control of ventilation and space conditioning, and installing effective mechanical systems.

Joseph Lstiburek Ph.D., P.Eng. (Building Science Corporation)
Dr. Lstiburek will explain the primary physical forces that adversely affect the durability of building materials — air, heat and moisture — and how a home's air barrier, thermal barrier and moisture barrier work together as a system to manage these forces.
